ESB Customer Supply staff embrace the Energy Challenge ESB Customer Supply recently commissioned a research company to carry out an online survey on Energy Efficiency (EE) among staff. The purpose of the exercise was to establish how energy efficient staff are and what would encourage them to be more energy efficient in the future. 257 completed questionnaires were received. In summary, the results showed that staff within ESB Customer Supply were very keen to play their part in reducing energy wastage both at home and at work and they also want more information on energy-related matters. In response to the survey results and also as part of the Energy Champions initiative within ESB Customer Supply, EE tips will now be provided on a regular basis to help staff reduce their energy needs. These tips will also be available to the wider audience starting in EM this month and continuing every month there after. As part of this initiative ESB Customer Supply will also be monitoring electricity usage in buildings it occupies and will post the energy usage on notice boards. This will highlight energy patterns within buildings and identify where improvements can and have been achieved. In acknowledgment of the huge support staff have given this initiative, ESB Customer Supply has teamed up with the Tree Council of Ireland who will plant 300 oak trees at Aurora Glencree Valley Wicklow on behalf of staff. This initiative will result in 3.5 tonnes of carbon emissions being offset each year for next 500 years.
ESB Customer Supply had three key speakers this year, Vincent Litchfield a Key Account Manager with Greg Ryan and Colman Kenny, part of the Energy Efficiency team. Other Key Account Managers attended the Road Shows in their areas, where they were able to meet their customers and give them advice on energy efficiency and management. |
