Luke Shinnors - appointed as Acting HR Director

Luke shinnors, the newly appointed HR Director, joined ESB in 1973 where he was initially appointed to Distribution Department. Following his posting to Dublin North West district in 1978, Luke held a variety of positions at middle management level in the old Dublin North West District/North Branch of Dublin Region. In 1990, he was appointed as Dublin Region's Personnel Manager under Tom Murray, the Regional Manager at the time.

In 1994, Luke returned to the North Branch as Customer Service Manager where he remained for the next four years. In that period, he oversaw the rationalisation of North Branch to the new Finglas headquarters. In 1998, Luke was appointed as HR Manager in ESB Customer Services Business Unit. This was later to be divided into ESB Customer Supply and ESB Networks and Luke retained the Networks HR role. In his role as HR Manager in Networks, Luke coordinated the delivery of the PACT agreements and change process for Networks ('Transform') as well as being involved in the cross company delivery of the PACT agreements.

In the period 2004 – 2006, Luke led the successful delivery of the Pay, Pension and Change (PPC) negotiations. During that time he was appointed as Corporate Change Manager for ESB. Following the signing of the agreement, Luke was appointed to ESB Power Generation as Group Manager, Peat, Hydro and Moneypoint Stations, where he has served for the last two years.

A qualified engineer, Luke also holds an MBS in HR Strategies from DCU.

Luke and his wife Loretta have three sons and live in Leixlip. He has a keen interest in the GAA where he has been actively involved for many years as player, mentor and administrator. He also enjoys golf, music, reading and walking.
