EM reader survey to benefit ElectricAid
In this issue of EM a
reader survey is included,
for each survey completed
and returned EM will
automatically donate €2 to
ElectricAid. We are deeply
grateful to EM for their continuing
support and generosity. This will
help us contribute in other areas
of the Developing World.

If EM gets a 10% response rate,
ElectricAid will benefit to the tune
of €3,300. If 25% of you respond,
€8,250 will be available to fight
poverty, ill-health, and injustice.
But what does this mean in
concrete terms? Here are some
examples of what ElectricAid did
in recent projects with similar
amounts of money:
- Repaired 20 houses and built
six pit latrines in an Ethiopian
slum – for €6,580
- Provided tools & equipment for
skills training for HIV/AIDS
orphans in Kenya – for €9,137
- Set up and equipped a tailoring
skills project for indigenous
people in Ecuador – for €2,555
- Set up a library service for long
stay hospital in-patients in
Ireland – for €5,000
- Provided six villages with
hand-pump wells for clean
water in rural Liberia – for
€7,000
- Started an income-generating
piggery project for HIV/AIDS
widows & orphans in Uganda
– for €6,579
- Provided IT equipment for a
school for children with
autism in Ireland – for €5,000
These are real projects
completed in the last two years.
Unfortunately, we refuse
support to many fine projects
because of lack of funds. But, by
simply filling in your
questionnaire – and getting your
friends and colleagues to do so
too – can help us to provide at
least one, and maybe two or
more, additional life-saving and
life-changing developments.
What could be simpler?
