ESB Golfing Society 75th Anniversary

The ESB Golfing Society was founded back in 1933 with P K Powell as the first Captain of the Society. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the society and the Chief Executive, Padraig McManus is captain for 2008.

To celebrate the anniversary a special competition will be held as part of the Captain's Weekend in Killarney in May this year. On Friday, May 16th an 18 hole Singles Stableford will be held for the 75th Anniversary Trophy on Mahony's Point course. Presentation of prizes will take place during a celebratory dinner at the Castlerosse Hotel at 7.30pm that evening.

On Saturday 17th on the Killeen course, the Captain's prize will be played in an 18 hole singles Stableford. Presentation of prizes during dinner in Castlerosse Hotel at 8.30pm on Saturday. On both afternoons a nine-hole Fourball is played on the Castlerosse Hotel course.

The Society continues to have strong support and welcomes new members especially from present staff to ensure that as one of the oldest golf societies in Ireland there will be equally large numbers at our 100th!

There is no society fee payable and all staff with a GUI Handicap may play.
