Engineering Primary School Initiative Steps to Engineering introduced its brand new initiative for the 2008 / 2009 school year called 'Xperience Engineering'. The initiative was introduced to nearly 800 primary schools throughout Ireland and schools had up until Wednesday April 1st to submit their final project. Over the last number of months, primary school children have been developing their projects in line with the theme 'Engineers Save Lives' and during this time they have taken part in a number of activities such as K'NEX Challenges, engineer visits, field trips to local engineering companies and completing monthly activity sheets on Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Rockets and Energy Engineering. After putting the final touches to their projects schools will have to wait in anticipation to see if their class will be chosen to represent their school in the 'Xperience Engineering National Final' on Thursday June 18th in the Helix, DCU.
