Sustainability Improvement Plans (SIP)

Local sustainability Plans are being rolled out across the company at the moment, with training held or scheduled for the Sustainability Champions in all locations at this stage.
The Sustainability Improvement Plan (SIP) is designed to help local teams to manage sustainability initiatives and remedial works in a consistent and orderly way. It is intended that the contents of these plans will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis, for example, as part of staff briefings, partnership group meetings, etc. The SIP covers three main initiative types:

  • Workplace Initiatives.
  • Home Initiatives.
  • Community Initiatives.

It is hoped that these plans will be used as key working documents in each location.
The SIP is a key process in the delivery of carbon reduction commitments and a step closer to ESB becoming the best exemplar of sustainability in Ireland.
