The painting is about the portrayal of an ordinary scene that we encounter in our own daily lives. The overall tone, mood and light in the piece invites us to reflect on what is going on around us. This artist, because of the sheer quality and force of his work, succeeds in drawing us into the environment but more than that we are encouraged to consider our own relationship with the environment, how we contribute to shaping it and how in turn it impacts on each us as individuals. | |||
