ESB disability trainees prepare for employment challenges The 2008 ESB Disability Traineeship Programme has just been completed by most of this year's participants. The 13 trainees have highly-praised the programme and have expressed great appreciation for the support they received during their traineeships from staff across ESB. Last month, the Equality and Diversity Office arranged a training course on effective CV writing and Interview preparation skills for the trainees, to help them in making a successful transition from ESB back into the external job-market. Jimmy Flynn, HR Power Generation, facilitated the course, which included detailed information and guidance on successful CV and Interview preparation from Morgan Kennedy, Recruitment and Selection, HR Shared Services. Des Moore, Group HR, Corporate Centre conducted a workshop with the trainees on DISC personality-profiling. Carmel Meade, FAS Senior Employment Services Offi cer provided information on the FAS Career Guidance and Supported Employment Programmes, and on the FAS workplace adaptation and employment grants available to private sector employers who recruit employees with disabilities. The training course content was devised by Ciaran Gogarty, Access Offi cer, ESB Equality and Diversity Office. A number of trainees subsequently took part in internal mock-interviews, where they received further feedback and guidance on their preparation and performance.
