Helping hands:
Dublin North Partnership Group - Promoting Sustainability in the Community
The Dublin north Partnership Group has been busy promoting the Sustainability agenda in the wider community. The Group recently explored how they might help the elderly while at the same time doing their bit for the environment. Having looked at a number of options, they made contact with two volunteer agencies, 'helping hands', an agency that helps the elderly with home improvements around the ballyfermot area in Dublin and the 'Drogheda Senior Citizen Group' an agency that carries out similar good work in Drogheda, Co.louth.
In conjunction with these two agencies, the Partnership group developed their own project in these two communities. enlisting significant local support, the Group has organised a band of willing and enthusiastic volunteers from Finglas and Dundalk / Drogheda to install a large number of lagging jackets free of charge in the homes of the elderly.
A perfect example of Partnership working outside ESB in the wider community.
