No. 29 hosts Jane Austen's birthday party!
On Saturday, October 3rd, Jane Austin (aka Éadaoin Close) along with close family members paid a visit to Mrs. Delany in No. 29 to celebrate Jane's birthday. In conversation with Mrs Delany, a more senior guest confided in Mrs Delany "Will I ever get my girls wed." Having taken tea and exchanged pleasantries Mrs Delany invited her guests to take a tour of her very fine town house, after which one guest whispered "Was quiet superior taking a turn around the house after sitting in one attitude for so long".
The No 29 visit was Éadaoin's family birthday present as she is an avid Jane Austin fan. She looked splendid and thoroughly enjoyed her visit. Mrs. Delany gave Jane a gift of a journal as it was confided in her that Jane had an interest in writing.
