This credit-card-sized gadget will wirelessly connect up to five devices, providing internet where there is a GSM signal. The current mobile broadband dongles are fine for a dedicated computer wiith Usb port, the MiFi however is wireless and works with any Wi-Fi device, iPod, camera, PDA, mobile hone, etc.
I have been using the device for a while now and can see its advantages for mobile computing, on train or bus (not recommended while driving), for gaming or just for sharing files locally through the sd card slot. battery life is advertised at about four hours on a full charge, although this will be reduced depending on the number of devices attached to it.
The portability, expandability and connectivity of the MiFi make it the must-have gadget for any self-respecting nerd or, alternatively, it offers a low-cost mobile-office solution for up to five colleagues working away from base.
