Willie McGowan celebrates his 100th birthday
ESB pensioner, Willie McGowan, celebrated his 100th birthday on Sunday, November 29th at his home in Donegal Town. Chief Executive, Padraig McManus, paid a visit to Willie and his wife Rita on the following day to wish them well. Willie and his family originally owned the electricity company in the town and sold it later to ESB in the early 50's when he joined ESB himself. A most interesting man, with many talents under his belt, Willie has featured a number of times in EM. The Chief Executive made a presentation to Willie to mark the event and joined him and Rita in a celebratory cup of tea and slice of birthday cake at his home in Waterloo Place.
