Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child (a project of Samaritan's Purse) is a brilliant yet simple opportunity for children and families to send gifts to children who would otherwise never receive anything at Christmas.

Last Christmas over 270,000 gift-filled shoe boxes from Ireland were delivered to children in Armenia, Belarus, Croatia, Ukraine and Mozambique, and despite getting involved very late, ESB staff generously donated over 300 of these. This year many areas of ESB got involved and supported this appeal. Once again the generosity of ESB staff was shown to be second to none as at the time of writing over 600 shoeboxes have been donated by ESB staff country-wide. Many thanks to all who have donated and to those who co-ordinated the collection and delivery of the shoe boxes.

We know that these gifts will make a big difference to a lot of children this Christmas.
