New ESB initiative for children with disabilities Chief executive Padraig McManus has introduced a new annual ESB educational bursary scheme for children with disabilities. The scheme consists of two bursaries to the value of €2,000 per recipient per year, up to a maximum of four years. As an employee-supportive measure, it enforces the ESB traditions of corporate social responsibility and equality. The purpose of this new initiative is to help children who have a disability, but who cannot avail of the present ESB education awards scheme due to CAO / HETAC requirements. It will apply to children who are not in employment and are primarily dependent on their parents/guardians for support, who are attending an educational institute or pursuing some form of further education. Children eligible to apply for the scheme that meet the entry conditions specified by HETAC (or equivalent accrediting institution) are not eligible to apply for the ESB education bursary. The ESB education bursary scheme is open to eligible dependent children of regular fulltime staff and regular part-time staff currently employed in ESB/ESBI, to children of staff in receipt of ongoing VSS payments and to children of retired and deceased staff. There is a limit of one entry per student, and a family may be in receipt of only one ESB Education Bursary or Education Award at any time. Bursary Applications are now being accepted The list of conditions, application forms and further information are available by phoning 01-7027091 or internal extn. 27091. Completed forms should be sent before Friday 19th January 2007, to Catherine Griffith, HR Shared Services, Ground Floor, D Block, ESB 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2. Please note that in future years the ESB education bursary scheme will be run in conjunction with the ESB education awards scheme. | ||||
