ESB ElectricAID Ireland donates €20,000 support for Limerick-based charities ESB electricaid ireland donated €20,000 to two charities in Limerick on Thursday 16th November 2006. The Limerick Mental Health Association and the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue Service each received €10,000 in grant funding from the ESB ElectricAID Ireland charity. ESB ElectricAID Ireland was set up in 2005 by ESB to provide support for charities in Ireland. ESB staff decided that ElectricAID Ireland should concentrate its support to two problem areas, suicide prevention and homelessness. The €10,000 donation to the Limerick Mental Health Association is to help fund the core activities of the association, particularly during the high profile Mental Health Week. The Limerick association is one of the lead support providers in the mental health field and is extending its work into Clare and Tipperary. The funding given to the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue service is being used to purchase a portable air compressor. The compressor will aid the diving side of the service, filling diving tanks on site and speeding up the service. |
