Search for missing fishermen At the time of going to print, searchers along the south coast were continuing to look for any trace of seven fishermen missing from two trawlers that sank of the South East coast. The two boats, the Honeydew and the Pere Charles sank within hours of each other on January 11th. The seven missing crewmen include Pat Coady who worked for several years with ESB Networks before returning to fishing. The ill fated trip in early January was Pat's first outing since before he began working on the networks. Pat was a crew member of the Pere Charles. Originally from Duncormack, County Wexford, Pat's father and grandfather, Stephen and Paddy, also drowned at sea. He has one young daughter, aged five, and was living with his girlfriend Sarah Maher in the village. Having worked as a fisherman for ten years he worked with the ESB for the last two years. He joined the crew of the 'Pere Charles' on the morning of the tragedy after spending several days seeking a place aboard a trawler. | ||||
