SPORTSCO's new fitness centre is now up and running

Sportsco's new extended gym opened on Wednesday, November 7th the first stage of the redevelopment to be handed back by the builder. The new facility has made a very positive impression on users, judging by the feedback from members so far according to SPORTSCO's General Manager, Lorna Brady.

The swimming pool, leisure suite, changing areas and reception are due to open on January 2nd next and members are asked to check details on the internet site www.sportsco.ie

SPORTSCO's Fitness Centre comprises three main areas: a resistance/strength area, an extensive cardiovascular area and two fitness studios with a total combined area of 6,100sq ft. Work on the fitness studios is due to be completed in Febuary 2008.

Following extensive research, SPORTSCO has installed the very best in cardiovascular and strength equipment, including 16 new 'Life Fitness Treadmills', which are the first to be installed in Ireland. These treadmills are fully equipped with individual cardio-entertainment systems to allow members view their own personal choice in TV programs.

Also within the fitness centre, there is an extensive range of 'Eagle Strength' equipment. This range is guaranteed to work every muscle group in the body, including back extension and abdominal pieces. Our strength area also houses a very large range of free weights. A number of dual use equipment pieces have been installed for people with disabilities and some have high visibility markings for people with visual impairment. In total the fitness centre contains over 65 pieces of equipment, which will ensure no waiting time during busy periods.

Clients should be advised that it is compulsory to have a fitness induction session before using the gym for the first time.

SPORTSCO has fully trained Instructors on duty at all times within the fitness centre and these instructors are more than willing to advise on all aspects of training and healthy living. The fitness centre has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere combined with state of the art equipment, which together makes it a motivating and enjoyable place to train.
