Years of quality management

Esbie-fm's Quality System was audited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) at the end of 2007. The audit took place at the ESBI Cork office and resulted in a successful continuation of the existing ISO 9001 quality certification. This result was a great reflection on all staff in ESBIe-fm and in particular the ongoing dedication and commitment of the Cork team.

The event marked 15 years since ESBI first achieved accreditation of its quality system at international standard. Back in November 1992, accreditation was seen as a significant milestone in the development of the group and was celebrated by an event at the Burlington hotel in Dublin that was attended by staff and the then Managing Director Gerry Breen. Brian Cowen, who at the time was Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications also attended the event.

Since 1992, ESBIe-fm has built on the hard work and time invested in the continued improvement of the quality system. ESBIe-fm has been at the forefront of expanding and building on a commitment to quality management, which has resulted in the implementation of ISO 9001 in ESBI's:

  • Corby (UK) facility in 1998
  • Rousch Combined Cycle Gas Turbine plant (Pakistan)
  • Kulim power plant in (Malaysia)
  • Coolkeeragh (Northern Ireland)
  • Amorebieta (Spain) etc.
The aim is to have all ESBI Facility Management plants operating to an Integrated Management System covering the environmental, quality and safety management standards.

As ESBIe-fm looks to the future, a commitment to quality and continual improvement is seen as a critical requirement to delivering client services and maintaining competitive advantage.

Here's to the next 15 years of achieving high quality standards!
