Hello and Welcome
to the February issue of EM.

Calling all Retired Staff groups and also Social Groups in the wider ESB. EM is regularly contacted by various bodies, including hotel groups, in relation to offers and facilities/events which might be of interest to the various staff/retired staff in the company.

Hotels which offer keen rates to particular groups might be of particular interest. The offer might include pick-ups and drop-offs from coach or train stations or breaks that include reduced green fees at a range of golf courses etc. Special arrangements for persons with a disability might also form part of the package on offer or a wide variety of activities which can be availed of during a stay in any one particular hotel. In order to enable us to make the information available to your particular society or group you should email me and give me the contact details of the group secretary or other officer to whom I could forward the details of any such offer. For instance our retired colleagues may be in a position to avail of offers possibly at short notice or mid week and of course, quite often, it is in these circumstances that the best offers are given.

So if you’d like to make your details available to EM we will be happy to notify you of any hotels/offers which have been brought to our attention.

In this season of bad weather and cold conditions we would appeal to our readers to call on the elderly and those living alone if possible to check that they are okay and not in any danger from unprotected fires, lack of heating or unable to get to the shop. ESB Customer Supply is closely associated with a number of groups who promote awareness of these issues but we would ask all those who can spare the odd hour or so a week to do likewise.
