Cycling & walking from Batterstown

Great routes exploring South Meath

Batterstown village Enhancement Association (VEA) is delighted to publish a collection of wonderful and varied cycle and walking routes around the area.

The book contains ten cycling and three walking routes from Batterstown which explore the countryside and attractions in South Meath. The book also tells of local history, stories, and folklore along the routes to enhance the experience. Maps and photographs are used throughout. The routes were chosen to avoid, as far as possible, the busy roads and Cycling & walking from Batterstown vary in length and difficulty to suit most people. The routes are circular, starting and finishing in Batterstown. The book will be on sale in the 'Village Pump' and local libraries or from any member of the Village Enhancement Association.

We are enormously indebted to Hugh Halpin, the author, for generously scripting the book and providing photographs.

We hope that Cycling & Walking from Batterstown will inspire many people to take to their bicycles or go for a walk, and enjoy the magical heritage and countryside that lies within minutes of this scenic village.
