Sorry for borrowing these lines from Thin Lizzy, but they seem the most appropriate to describe Friday 2nd December and the NCC Cork Awards Night. What a night it was for style, glamour, sophistication and of course large amounts of Craic!

120 staff gathered for the black tie event, some even arriving in limousines, but all looking like they just stepped off the catwalk in London or Milan. A beautiful meal was followed by the main event, the award ceremony itself, which was hosted by Grainne Lavers and Pat Shanahan - if we do ever win the Eurovision again we need look no further than these two!

A very professional big screen cartoon presentation of award nominees and winners put together by Emmet Keane added to the entertainment. Everyone was a winner, whether or not they actually walked off with one of the "gongs "(they were actually cuddly teddy bears!) Dancing followed into the early hours and it was a great way to end another year of successful events in the NCC. Roll on 2006!
