Willie Lacey celebrates 50 years of marriage

Willie Lacey recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Willie spent many years in Contracts in the busy 60s and 70s, based in Waterford and working in the South-east. He then moved to the Control Room in Waterford on shift work, where he stayed until the closure of the Control Room and his retirement in 1992.

Willie was very active in the trade union movement for many years, was a competent and able negotiator with the ETU at highest level, and he can be credited with many of the excellent pay and working conditions which ESB electricians enjoyed down through the years.
