New Chairman of TC2 - Electrical Installations Following the resignation of Keane Harley from the chairmanship of TC2 after 34 years of service, TC2 has unanimously nominated Jim Keogh for the position. Jim Keogh has represented ESB on TC2 for the last ten years and in this period has been a member of Irish delegations to CENELEC and IEC meetings dealing with electrical installations. Jim Keogh started in ESB in 1970 and his entire career has been spent in the ESB Networks Southwest Divisional organisation, where his appointments included Manager Customer Metering Department in Cork city, Manager for Operations East Cork, and at a later stage for Area Operations Cork City with responsibility for a new extended area which included Littleisland and Ringaskiddy. Jim's current position is the management of standards at the ESB Networks/Customer interface, a role that involves liaising with CER, ETCI, ECSSA and RECI in relation to operational and safety aspects at the customer interface. Jim Keogh has been involved in major ETCI projects which include the development and implementation of the electronic completion certificate and the preparation of a number of technical publications. He also is part of the ETCI technical training team. His current project is a member of the TC2 Working Group tasked with the publication of the Fourth Edition to the National Rules for Electrical Installations. |
