ESB seminars provide a clear AIM

The implications of the new all-island electricity market for businesses that are large users of energy were discussed at three seminars organised by ESB Customer Supply in Dublin, Cork and Ennis.

Large Energy Users (LEU's) with ESB Customer Supply were invited to attend one of three seminars on the implications of the All-Island electricity market (AIM) in Dublin, Cork and Ennis to inform them of forthcoming changes to the market and to advise how these changes would impact on their business. The seminars for large energy users LEUs were designed to:

  • Provide an overview of the AIM and the operation of the wholesale pool
  • Explain expected changes to existing electricity invoices and SToD tariffs
  • Explain the new pool Price Pass Through Tariff (PPPT)
  • Update LEUs on new features that have been added to Energy Extra, ESBCS's free online energy management tool
The feedback from customers, both at the event and during follow up conversations, was very positive. Customer found the seminars very informative and although the changes to the market are complex, customers said that the seminars provided sufficient information to assist them in making informed decisions with regard to the AIM and the introduction of the PPPT tariff.
