Christmas card winners presented with prizes

On Wednesday December 7th, Chief Executive Padraig McManus officially switched on the Christmas Lights at ESB headquarters in Fitzwilliam St. In what has now become an annual event, the winners of the EM Children's art competition and their families were invited to attend and were presented with their prizes for the design of one of ESB's Christmas cards. This year's winners were from Listowel, Fermoy, Athlone, as well as Dublin.

The event and competition has grown over the years and is a showcase of the wonderful imagination of the children who take part. This year's theme was 'How do you celebrate Christmas in Ireland?' and the winners were David Jordan, Fermoy, Fiachra MacDermott, Dublin, Ashling Lennon, Athlone, Gemma Whelan, Dublin, Lisa Russell, Dublin and Sean Kennelly, Listowel. Each winner received a cheque for €200, a framed copy of the card with their work and a supply of the Christmas cards to send to their family and friends. The prizes were presented by the Chief Executive at a very enjoyable function. This is a great opportunity for all budding young artists to have their work published and already we are working on a theme for next Christmas!
