Annual Mass for the deceased staff members in Cork

On 25th november the annual Mass in memory of deceased members of ESB staff was celebrated in the SMA church, in Wilton. A large crowd filled the church for this popular event in the calendar of ESB in Cork. The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Cormac Breathnach who gave a very moving sermon on the contribution our former colleagues made, over many years, to both ESB and Irish society. The Cork Male Voice Choir's singing, as in previous years, made a wonderful and much praised contribution to the Mass. Thank you to the readers, Seamus Murphy, Sr. Antonia, and Christy O'Neill for their participation.

After the mass the guests were invited down to the ESB restaurant in Wilton where refreshments were served. Many thanks to the restaurant staff, Helen, Filip, Rasma and Finola who had worked from early morning preparing the food and to Eamonn Mc Carthy in premises who arranged the seating. Thank you also to the volunteers– Ber O' Connell, Brian Nunan, Gerry & Maureen Whelan, the Keogh Family, and Cyril Morley, who assisted with serving the refreshments in the restaurant, which was filled to capacity.

Brian Nunan, Network Projects Manager then made a short speech thanking all who had attended and contributed to a very enjoyable morning before handing over to the Choir who brought the day to a close with a short concert.
