Power Generation Safety Quiz

The 3rd annual PG Safety Quiz/Challenge took place in Portlaoise on 13th November. The event, which was an expansion of the previous year's safety quiz, consisted of two components - a series of practical tasks and the second the traditional table quiz. The practical tasks consisted of four challenges.

Note : An online risk assessment will be rolled out for all Power Generation staff over the next few weeks, further details from Adrian Carroll H.R.

Power Generation Ext 26472 Donal Lehane of the organising group said he felt that the competition would go from strength to strength with increasing emphasis on practical elements providing a valuable opportunity to promote safer behaviour amongs Power Generation Staff.

Winners in of the category awards were Office (Tarbert) Sean Finucane, David Tough, Padraig O'Sullivan and Ger Hassett.

Scaffold (Moneypoint) Sean Rynne, Chris Creevy, Dermot Moran and Michael Edwards-Murphy. Manual Handling (Turlough Hill) Roger Kavanagh, Rory Doyle, Eamonn Finnegan and John McManus. Driving (West Offaly Power) Bertie Guinan, Ronan O'Flynn, Michael Coen and Rory Curley. The event was followed with a safety leadership workshop on the following day which was organised by the Station Safety Advisors Group.
