Minister witnesses signing of
Vietnamese contract with ESBI As reported in the EM December issue, ESB International has won a contract worth approximately €3 million in Vietnam to advise on the construction of a major new power station. This latest project win is for the provision of consultancy services including technical design review for the Nhon Trach 1 Combined Cycle Power Plant near Ho Chi Minh city. The new 450 megawatt power station is owned by GPPMB-a subsidiary of PetroVietnam, the state-owned oil and gas company. Under the two-year contract, ESBI will provide services to the client during tender evaluation, contract negotiations and project design review. In addition, ESBI will supervise the plant's construction and commissioning. The signing of the contract coincided with the opening of the new Irish Embassy with newly appointed Ambassador, Mr. Brendan Lyons and a regional ICT conference held in Hanoi at which the Minister for Communications Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey T.D. attended. The Minister took the opportunity while in Vietnam to witness the signing of the contract between ESBI and Nhon Trach. |
