ESB Customer Supply celebrates the relaunch of Staff Recognition Scheme A staff recognition scheme was developed by a cross-functional ESB Customer Supply group in 2005 in response to issues highlighted in a 2004 staff survey. Since then the scheme, known as 'Take a bow', has been managed by Partnership Groups and a significant number of ESB Customer Supply team members have been nominated by their colleagues for an award in recognition of excellence in their interaction with fellow workers or customers. Partnership Groups agreed that it was time to review the scheme in 2007 to align it with the revised ESB Customer Supply Values of 'Reliability, Integrity and Expertise'. A review group from across ESB Customer Supply met in November, agreed a revised scheme and invited ESB Customer Supply staff to enter a competition to rename the scheme. An event to celebrate the launch of the revised scheme and to announce the new name was held in all ESB Customer Supply main locations on Tuesday, June 17th. This exciting event was designed by a sub-group of all Partnership Groups in ESB Customer Supply. This sub-group – Betty Wixted, Limerick, Edel O'Gara and Tim Hartnett, Clanwilliam, Paul Armstrong, Leopardstown, Antoinette Humphries, Finglas along with Sean Walsh, Event Manager, ESB Customer Supply – were joined in preparing, managing and introducing the event in their respective locations by Martin Quigley, Sligo, Vicky Lane, Cork and Ann Lynch in Dundalk. Also speaking at the events about how the new staff recognition scheme provides an ideal mechanism for acknowledging achievements by individuals or teams who excel in delivering on ESB Customer Supply's brand values, were some of the ESB Customer Supply Brand Champions - Noreen Armstrong, Fiona Maher, Ann Fehily, Joan Dempsey, Paul Hoey, Maureen O'Hagan and Margaret Boyle. A senior manager was present in all locations for the event and announced the winner of the competition and the new name for the scheme. The new name for the scheme is STARS (Supply Thanks and Recognition Scheme). Congratulations to Edel McCarthy, CRM, who submitted the winning entry. |
