North West retired staff outing

The north west retired staff group made their second overseas trip in April, when 56 members travelled to LLandudno in Wales. The trip coincided with the mid summer weather which prevailed in Wales at the time.

With the help of a guide in each of the two buses, the group visited Bodnant Gardens, Colwyn Bay and Conway Castle, they took a trip on the Steam train to the summit of Snowdon and toured Chester. One of the highlights was a visit to the sheep farm of Ivor Williams, of 'One man and his dog' fame, who gave a very interesting insight into sheep farming in Wales. Ivor gave a demonstration of shepherding with his champion sheep dogs, which was a new experience for most of the group. In between there was time for shopping and the by now 'international' choir took to the stage for the nightly entertainment.
