What you think of EM

A short self-completion questionnaire was inserted into the April edition of EM. It is important for us to know what our readers want to we can make EM the best possible publication for you.

81% of staff always read EM, with 9.46 of a possible 11 issues being read. 96% of respondents plan to read further issues of EM. 45% of staff read EM as soon as they get it.

An overwhelming majority or readers (65%) felt that there was nothing additional that they would like to see covered in EM, ie the mix of content is completely satisfactory. The top three suggestions for additional content were more information about retirees, more old photos and stories and more in depth information about staff.

Readers feel that EM's top three qualities are: Easy to read; well written and excellent photography. The top three favourite items in the News section of EM are: Snippets about various parts of the company; News about ESB Group staff and Features on ESB Group locations.

The top three favourite favourite topics in the Environmental, Safety, Heath & Wellbeing section and the Life section are: health, travel and competitions.

Reader survey competition We had an amazing response with 706 of you returning completed questionnaires and all of you that returned the item with your details were included in the draw for a fantastic family break in Banna Beach, which is a unique holiday resort next to the breathtaking Banna Strand, a few miles from Tralee town, co. Kerry.

The lucky winner of this break was Paul O'Brien, ESBI. The prize includes:

  • A week's accommodation in one of the four-star holiday homes at Banna Beach
  • Free access to the gymnasium, swimming pool, astro turf, basketball court and playground.
  • Dinner on one night for the whole family at the nearby Station House Bar and Grill run by Lee Bradshaw. It offers diners a fusion of contemporary New York and Italian style food with a Latino lounge atmosphere.

Your participation in this survey raised €1,412 for ElectricAid, ESBs social and justice fund. With this funding they will be able to make higher contributions to areas of the developing world and fight poverty, ill-health and injustice.
