FLM Development Programme

The most recent graduates of the Power Generation FLM Development programme were presented with their certificates recently by Nicholas Tarrant, newly appointed Group Manager for Moneypoint/Peat/Hydro.

The three module programme was tailored for First Line Managers in Power Generation. The current run of five programmes commenced in May 2007 and was completed in April of this year.

The topics covered included Leadership, Influencing, Self awareness, Time management, Team Management, Employee Relations and various internal processes and procedures. The aim of the programme is to equip the First Line Manager with key management skills to assist them more effectively meet the challenges of their role within Power Generation.

Over the coming months Power Generation will review the programme so as to update the topics covered, and to take account of the business changes facing the First Line Manager such as Best Practice Station Agreements, increased use of contractors and the impact of the Single Electricity Market.Feedback from participants has been very positive and a further programme will be scheduled for Q4 2008. Anyone interested in the programme should discuss this with their Line Manager. Bookings for the programme can be made through the ITDP system.
