Know your neighbour weekend

ESB Customer Supply are sponsoring the Macra na Feirme Initiative 'Know your Neighbour Weekend' for the second year in succession. This year it takes place on the weekend of 14th and 15th of July.

This initiative is about encouraging people to take time out from their busy schedules to do something for their neighbours. It could be something as simple as inviting your neighbour in for a coffee or organising a barbeque in the local park.

The official launch took place in the Mansion House in Dublin on Tuesday, June 19th. It was attended by the Minister for Health & Children, Mary Harney T.D., Lord Mayor of Dublin Cllr. Vincent Jackson, Catherine Buckley, President of Macra na Feirme and Padraig McManus, ESB Chief Executive. In their speeches all of the speakers pointed out the fact that ESB has always had very close links with communities throughout the country while the Minister congratulated ESB for its support of so many community initiatives down through the years.

Don't forget, ESB Customer Supply's staff competition for the best KYN initiative, which has been included in EM for the last couple of months. The prize is two nights B&B in any one of the Manor House Hotels in the country.

To enter this competition you simply need to come up with an idea, big or small, that you carry out on the 14th and 15th July and that helps you to get to Know your Neighbours better. Then tell your story to EM.
