A week in the life - Nerea Imaz
Occupation:
Public Affairs Officer,
ESBI Bilbao.
What is your typical week?
Admin Officer, HR
Shared Services
I work in the ESB International
office in Bilbao. I usually work from
9:00 'til 18:30, except Fridays when I
finish at 15:00. About twice a
month I travel to Asturias (three
hours drive from Bilbao), where
ESBI has a new generation project
and I am part of the team working
on that project development. When
I am there my tasks concern
Community Relationships,
Information Campaigns or getting
new contacts in the area.
If you could change something
in your week what would it be?
I would add 4 hours to the day.
When I get home it's already 19:15
in the evening, and I don’t have
much time to practice sports or do
other leisure activities.
How do you chill out?
In summer, I love going to the
mountains with some good friends,
good food and drinks and enjoy a
BBQ. I also like going to the beach
and travelling with my partner. In
winter, when the weather isn’t
great, I enjoy playing the guitar and
singing. It's very relaxing for me,
although it could be quite stressful
for those listening!
If you had the opportunity to
pursue another career, what
would you like to do?
I would love to work with animals
in a nature reserve and research
their behaviour and their responses
to different situations. Also it
would be great to work for a
magazine such as National
Geographic, travelling around the
world covering the nature and
animals sections. That would be
absolutely amazing.
What is your biggest personal
ambition?
I am pregnant at the moment, and I
suppose as all women in my
situation, I am looking forward to
becoming a good mother and being
able to ensure that my working life
and my family life are compatible,
which doesn't seem to be very easy!
