Healthy Eating Survey winners at Head Office Restaurant

Esb's head office Restaurant facility along with Occupational Health recently carried out a healthy eating survey, which received a response of 469 completed questionnaires. The survey highlighted that 65% of individuals are interested in making changes in relation to their diet. A remarkable 81% of staff are interested in seeing a new range of healthy options in our catering service.

What changes do people want? On the breakfast range:
Porridge, poached, boiled and scrambled eggs, more variety of brown breads, more fresh fruit and natural yogurts. On the Lunch option: Salads - Cheaper, larger variety, less dressings and more cold meats. Fish – without batter on Friday's, more baked and fresh fish. Vegetables – More variety.

Chips- 81% would like a chip-free day

  • Only 49% staff eat fresh fruit from the restaurant and
  • 62% would like more information regard
  • ing healthy options.
  • 61% perceive the quality of food on offer as being very good/good.

A presentation for the three healthy food hampers draw for the customers who completed the survey was held in the Restaurant on Friday 9th June and pictured below are the winners.
