Sample a Taste of the Orient

IASBAH seeks walkers for 10-day Chinese Walk

IASBAH (Irish Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus) is seeking volunteers to undertake a 10-day walk in China in October.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will afford those taking part the chance to experience one of the world's most beautiful countries. The challenge will take walkers on an adventure to witness first-hand the rich cultural tapestry and exotic tastes of the Orient while raising funds for a worthwhile charity.

IASBAH is a national voluntary organisation representing 1,500 members nationwide. The association works with people with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus to improve the quality of their lives on a practical level. The incidence of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus in Ireland is the second highest in the world.

An average of 75 babies are being born each year with Spina Bifida, and at least 80% of those born have some degree of Hydrocephalus. It is hoped that the China Walking Challenge will raise enough money to fund a new Resource Centre to benefit the members of IASBAH.

To sign up for the China Walking Challenge, lo-call Gaye on 1890 20 22 60 or visit www.iasbah.ie.
