Essential first aid if you find a
casualty.
Put the casualty in the recovery
position. Clear and open the
airway removing any foreign
objects. Tilt the head back slightly
and slightly down to check for
breathing. If the casualty is not
breathing turn them onto their
back and perform EAR. Give two
effective breaths at a time
ensuring that the chest rises with
each breath. Feel for a pulse,
continue EAR and check pulse
about every minute until
breathing resumes. If breathing
resumes place the casualty in
recovery position and manage
any wounds or bleeding. If not
continue the cycle until the
ambulance arrives or the casualty
regains consciousnesses.
