ESB Customer Supply showcases its Energy Efficiency initiatives at school's awards The 'Power of one good idea' is the title of a new pilot Transition Year Marketing Module and Competition, the concept of which centres around raising energy efficiency and awareness. In this novel pilot program, which involves more than 20 schools nationwide, students were asked to research, design and implement a complete marketing campaign promoting energy awareness and energy efficiency. Their campaigns were required to target three distinct audiences: local primary-school students; fellow secondary-school students and parents/guardians and the wider community. An exhibition of the best student projects was hosted by Power of One at Croke Park on Wednesday, April 30th with an awards ceremony for those projects judged to be the best on the day. ESB Customer Supply was invited to the event to showcase its own energy efficiency initiatives to the audience of students, teachers, politicians and parents. At the exhibition, Eamon Ryan TD, Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, visited the ESB Customer Supply stand and was very complimentary of ESB's continued contribution to energy efficiency and was in particular very impressed by our new 'Interactive House' and our 'Appliance Calculator', as well as our DVD, The Energy Challenge. The Minister stressed the importance of educating both young and old on energy efficiency. |
