Welcome to Billy Byrne

Recently appointed as Human Resources Manager, ESBI, Billy is responsible for three key areas in the Group Centre function: Human Resources; Safety and Welfare and Communications across the group. Billy also replaces George Martin in his role as a member of the Executive Senior Management team.

Billy's previous role was Human Resources Manager for ESB Power Generation. He worked in the area of HR for the last six years and during that time has held a number of interesting roles revolving around general HR, People Development and Employee Relations. Prior to this Billy held a variety of positions in Power Generation including working as a Plant Manager and as a C&I Specialist. He also spent five years in Moneypoint (Co. Clare) as well as periods in Great Island (Co. Wexford), Tarbert (Co. Kerry) and Shannonbridge (Co. Offaly).

Billy holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from UCC and a Masters Degree in Organisational Behaviour from Trinity College.
