ESBI Summer Concert is a rocking success ESB International held a Summer Concert recently in Dublin for over 350 staff from across the company. Entertainment throughout the evening was provided by an eclectic mix of talented homegrown ESBI musicians and singers. Staff from all over Ireland travelled to the event to show their support for their colleagues performing on the night. First on stage were The Rockin’ Billys featuring Gerry Noonan (Civil & Structural) on vocals and guitar, Vincent Power (High Voltage) on drums and Dave Hendrick (Environmental) on guitar. The Eclectics were next up with powerhouse vocal performances from Nora Bairead (Human Resources), Dave Farrell (Facility Management) and Robert Forde (ESBIE), with support from Barry Gilbert (High Voltage) on guitar, Billy Byrne (Human Resources) on clarinet and guitar, and special guest Dave Hendrick (Environmental) on guitar. It was then time for some outstanding solo performers - Martin McEnteggart (ESBIE), Declan O’Brien (Facility Management) and Stuart Dawson (Strategic Consultancy Group), as well as an impromptu performance from Seamus Kennedy (ESB Renewables) who also acted as compère on the night. Finally the entertainment was completed with a stunning performance from The Kathleen Turner Overdrive featuring Paul Carroll (High Voltage) on guitar, Martin Geehan (High Voltage) on bass, Noelle Heavey (BCG) on vocals, Adrian King (BCG) on drums and David Naughton (BCG) on guitar. They were joined on stage by Robert Arthur (Asset Management Services) double jobbing vocally as Elvis and Johnny Cash. “It has been a fantastic evening of music and I have been stunned by just how diversely talented the staff in ESBI really are” said Michael McNicholas, Executive Director, ESB International. “Great credit is due to Ollie Brogan who was a real driver behind the event and gave it his whole-hearted support, there has been a great buzz right across ESBI in the last few weeks. It was a really great event and I would a like to personally thank all performers for participating, and for giving up their free time to do so” he added. |
