Major Overhaul in Poolbeg CCGT focuses on maintaining excellent plant performance in Power Generation On 22nd april, Poolbeg Combined Cycle commenced a major inspection on CG14. This is a 33,000 equivalent operating hour inspection and represents the most significant type of planned inspection on this type of unit. The gas turbine scope of work includes a complete disassembly of the unit, rotor removal and destacking on site. The generator rotor has also been removed for inspection and the rotor has been dispatched to OEM works for 'J Strap' replacement. There is also a very significant amount of balance of plant work programmed, including:
CG15 and ST16 are also due to some offload late July and early August respectively to undergo major inspection. Costing in excess of €30m across all 3-unit overhauls, this represents the most significant overhaul expenditure in 2006 (after the Moneypoint retrofit project). This expenditure will position Poolbeg CCGT to continue to deliver its excellent levels of availability. EM |
