Hello and Welcome
to the June edition of EM. May seems to have been a very busy month in the ESB calendar with lots of events happening throughout the company from all of the business lines. The Sligo Walk and the Networks Challenge were two events which drew large numbers - the Sligo Walk to participate and the Network Challenge to see the teams of skilled network technicians take part in an intensely competitive event where safety was their first priority. Congratulations and well done to all involved in both events, which are greatly supported by staff from across the wider ESB.

Spring and early summer are times when thoughts turn to, among other things, renovating or giving a makeover to our homes. Home makeovers are now a big money spinner and we are spoiled for choice with TV programmes and magazines on the topic. The well-known Sinead Kelly, who has recently commenced a hugely popular regular feature in EM on interior decorating and design, gives us very practical but fabulous ideas if you are thinking of doing up your home either to enjoy or to increase its value prior to sale. Sinead advises where the best buys are to be had and how you can make a place amazing without breaking the bank. We hope to bring you lots more ideas on a regular basis in forthcoming issues. We also include in this issue the results from our recent Reader Survey and we would like to thank you all for taking the time to complete the questionnaire. We were thrilled that so many of you took the time to reply and the results are very encouraging. We are glad that so many of you are pleased with both the layout and content of the paper and we are looking forward to discussing the results at a workshop to be held shortly with the idea of keeping it interesting and enjoyable to you, our readers.
