Indian walk by ESB Networks woman will help Calcutta's street children On march 15th Brigid O'Grady from ESB Networks in Arklow will set out on a sponsored walk in India for the Hope Foundation. Over a six day period Brigid will walk nearly 100km, spending six to seven hours walking every day. Brigid is covering the cost of her flights and accommodation which amount to about €1,700 but she needs to raise an additional €3,500 for the charity to take part in the walk. She would appreciate any donations that people might like to give the Foundation. Brigid is well known in not just the South East but across the wider Networks and ESB. The Hope Foundation is a registered Irish charity set up in 1999 to restore basic human rights for the street children of Calcutta, who are denied food, shelter, healthcare, education, love, safety and support. The streets offer little protection; dangerous predators abuse these vulnerable children emotionally, physically, mentally and sexually. Street children experience the cruelty and inhumanity of mankind on a daily basis. The Hope Foundation aims to protect these children from exploitation and danger and giving them back their right to a childhood. If you wish to donate to Brigid's sponsored walk, please contact: Brigid O'Grady, ESB Networks, Arklow, Co. Wicklow Tel: Extn 52702 DDI or 0402 29202 or 087 241 8898. |
