Chief Executive visit to Tarbert Station

The ESB Chief Executive, Padraig McManus and the Executive Director ESB Power Generation, Pat O'Doherty visited Tarbert Station on Wednesday, February 6th as part of the Safety Leadership initiative throughout ESB.

They met with station management and spoke of the progress made right across ESB in reducing accidents at work. Padraig complimented everybody on the excellent safety record at Tarbert in recent years and stressed that it is everybody's responsibility to eliminate workplace accidents.

The Chief Executive then attended a meeting of the Tarbert Safety Improvement Group where he reviewed the Station Safety Improvement Plan 2008. He thanked the members for their leadership role in promoting safe working in the station and acknowledged the current achievement of 557 days without a lost time accident.

They then carried out a number of Safety Audits around the plant accompanied by the Nominated Safety Engineer, Maurice Kelly and Station Safety Officer, Anthony Kearney. Later in the day the Chief Executive and Executive Director addressed all station staff on the Power Generation Asset Strategy and it's implications for Tarbert Station.
