Hello and Welcome
to the March issue of EM.

At this stage many of you will have taken part in the wide range of activities arranged for Sustainability Week. Throughout the various businesses, and across the country, a large number of launches, events, initiatives and presentations took place.

One of the interesting programmes, which is not only a sustainability initiative, but will also greatly improve levels of fitness is the Cycle to Work Scheme. Details of this programme are available on the ESB Intranet.

The Sustainability Roadshow is also touring the country giving advice and information to staff on a wide range of issues including energy efficiencies in the home, recycling, insulation, grants and BER certification. This coincided with the launch of another programme by ESB – to promote health awareness. Over the next year the 'Healthy Mind Programme' and the 'Balanced Choices Programme' will be delivered across the company as part of our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff. As we become more aware of the importance of looking after our 'total wellbeing' and ensuring all aspects of our lives are healthy and nurtured it is reassuring to know that there is so much support and information available to us.

We will be keeping you up to date in future issues of these initiatives and information on what is available.

  Bernie Healy
