Visit to Great Island Station

Pat O'Doherty, Executive Director, Power Generation and Billy Menton, Group Production Manager, Power Generation visited Great Island Station last November to thank the staff in Great Island for their work for ESB over the years and to wish them well in their future careers with Endesa Ireland. The sale of Great Island Power Station, Tarbert Power Station and the peaking plants at Rhode and Tawnaghamore to Endesa was agreed over the Summer and is a key part of ESB Power Generation's Asset Strategy.

Following the conclusion of staff agreements in Great Island and Tarbert, both stations transferred to Endesa's operation in February 2009.
