Retirement of Martin McNamara

Martin mcnamara decided to avail of VSS after 38 years’ service. Martin started his career in 1967 in Limerick District as an apprentice. On graduation he worked in Limerick Region as an electrician, much of the time on the Transmission side of the business. He has since worked in many parts of the organisation including the Training Department, Cable School, ESBI and Asset Management for the past six years.

His time with ESBI brought him to many exotic locations including Egypt, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Syria and Vietnam. Martin was an excellent trainer, incredibly patient and a great communicator. One overseas project is particularly noteworthy. Martin has made a huge contribution to all the areas that he has worked, in both ESB and ESBI. He has always brought a highly professional and competent approach to his work, while at all times being courteous. Martin’s work over the years brought him into contact with a wide range of people across ESB and I am sure many of his friends and colleagues wish him well in his retirement and various pursuits.
