Editors letter Hello and welcome to the March edition of EM. You will find an insert with a Reader Survey which we hope you will take a few minutes to complete (you can also print a version from the EM website). In an effort to ensure that we bring you the best possible publication we would ask you to take the time to complete the questionnaire, which will help us to see what you, our readers, like to read about in EM, or what other items you may or may not wish to see included. It has been approximately four years since we last carried out a survey of this nature and with many changes taking place in that time we want to ensure that your views are taken into consideration. You will also have a chance to win one of two breaks away in Ireland for two with €300 worth of spending money, so make sure you take a few minutes to complete the survey and enter the competition. If you wish to remain anonymous then you can just complete the survey but do not complete your own details. The results of the survey will be published as soon as they become available. We have had quite a number of retirements from the company in recent weeks as you will see from this edition. We know we haven't received copies of photographs from all of your retirement functions so if any of our colleagues out there were unfortunately not included in a previous issue of EM, please forward us your photographs and details and we will be delighted to include them in an upcoming issue. As the accident rate on our roads sadly continues to grow at horrific levels, we speak to Conor Faughnan of AA Roadwatch, in The Last Word in this issue. With ESB's own Safe Driving Bureau continuing to hammer out the message of safe driving at work and in our personal lives we hope you will all continue in your efforts to do your bit to make the roads safer. This will ensure we, or people we know and love, will never have the experience of having to answer a door to receive the devastating news of the death or serious injury of a loved one - something which sadly Gardai have to do on a pretty much daily basis currently.
