Joe LaCumbre steps down

The Deputy Chairman of the ESB Board, worker director Joe LaCumbre, has decided to retire from the company. The decision comes after 38 years of dedicated service with the company. Joe LaCumbre was first elected as a worker director to the ESB board of management 23 years ago. He was appointed Deputy Chairman in 1998 and reappointed to that post by Minister Dermot Ahern in 2002, for a further four-year term.

During his time as worker director, Joe LaCumbre was involved in charity fundraising. The worker director said he was stepping down for "personal and other reasons".
