Ballot result welcomed

ESB Management has welcomed the result of the union ballot on the Pension, Pay and Change proposals. The unions formally notified ESB of their acceptance of the Agreement on Pensions, Pay and Change on Friday 23rd February. Welcoming the decision, John Campion, Executive Director Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, praised the work of all those involved in the successful conclusion of the deal.

"This is a very positive outcome and I would like to acknowledge the effort and commitment of both Unions and Management in bringing about this agreement. There are many challenges facing ESB, including regulation, the various price reviews and competition. The company now needs to continue moving forward and prepare further for the challenges ahead." The successful ballot follows many months of negotiations between Unions and management at the company.
